Uasin Gishu County

Uasin Gishu County lies on the high plateau of Kenya’s North Rift, with Eldoret as its main city. The county is internationally associated with distance running, and its elevation, training camps and nearby routes attract athletes from around the world. Outside Eldoret, productive farms and broad highland landscapes define much of the scenery. Chepkiit Waterfalls on the Sosiani River is a popular local nature stop, while the city offers restaurants, accommodation and transport links toward western Kenya, Uganda and the northern Rift. Visitors often come for sport, business or as part of a wider highland journey rather than a traditional wildlife circuit.
